SymTerra Enhances Site Communication Capabilities with Autodesk Construction Cloud Integration

London, 03.11.2024 – SymTerra, a digital communication tool built for on-site project teams, today announced an integration with Autodesk Construction Cloud®, a portfolio of software and services that combines advanced technology, a builders network and predictive insights for construction teams. Now, project teams can export SymTerra SmartNotes as PDFs into Autodesk® Build, Autodesk® Docs, or BIM 360®.

In the construction industry, effective communication is paramount when enabling data flows across project delivery teams and their supply chains. The foundation of every project, and fundamental to every construction business, is robust data; and yet many project teams are forced to rely on consumer messaging tools for site reporting and updates because other options are simply not fit for purpose. This creates significant administration needs for central teams to file project photos, reports, and updates into relevant folders.

SymTerra’s new integration helps mitigate the risks posed by those consumer tools. Teams on the ground can use SymTerra to report their updates, which feed directly into Autodesk Construction Cloud. Project administration is reduced by allowing users to auto synchronize their project photos, videos and site reports in real time.

SymTerra is available on the Autodesk App Store.

John Ryan, Chief Executive Officer at SymTerra, commented, "Integrating SymTerra alongside Autodesk Construction Cloud provides teams with transparency into what’s happening on-site. Data is critical to the commercial resilience of the construction sector, and it is especially important that there are open data standards that the entire supply chain has access to, to democratise data. We’re looking forward to helping our customers continue to deliver projects and their site communication and reporting with this added visibility.”

“SymTerra helps centralize jobsite communication in a common tool to foster better construction collaboration,” said James Cook, director of industry & technology partnerships at Autodesk. “Integrating SymTerra’s SmartNotes with Autodesk Construction Cloud helps project teams add the context of that communication to the other workflows and decision-making in their construction system of record.”
