Streamlining site reporting with Lanes Group

Lanes Utilities, initially brought in by Thames Water as a subcontractor, upgraded to become a client. They use SymTerra to record any works on Thames Water’s network and their own, including their special projects division.

Since their implementation in December 2022, SymTerra has streamlined their workflow by allowing them to document all works on the Waste Network Services in one place, leading to significant time savings.

“With previous systems, we took photos on one platform and allocated the activity to the engineer on another for comments from site. We would then have to merge the data on to a word document copying text and adding photos to share with the client or other teams. This was time consuming and meant we'd have to limit or loose data, photos or miss information. With SymTerra, all info/photos are in one place to view/document making data sharing simple without having to transfer from multiple systems.”

Key Results

Time Saving

All project data is now in one place. Data sharing has been simplified, with teams no longer needing to pull data from multiple platforms.

Increased Efficiency

Job information and photos from the risk assessment are available immediately. Engineers can send communications to each other, making job handovers much simpler.

Improved Collaboration

Data is easily shared with the client directly from site. Engineers in the field are now able to easily share information between teams.

“The engineers in the field are enjoying the use of SymTerra as they can share information between teams and able to view the productivity dashboards in the office. Personally, my favourite features are the ability to view/download handovers the same day and the live Dashboards that make data sharing simple, removing the need to pull from multiple platforms. The mobile app make it easy for us to tag each other with updates which means all photos/comments are in the same place and can be easily shared with engineers completing the works.”

Project teams of all sizes are using SymTerra to change their projects for the better. And we have the case studies to prove it.

“There are many stakeholders involved, which can lead to confusion and frustrations, but with SymTerra we have sorted our works communications across our network, reduced our confined space entries and the visibility of the status of our assets.”
